There were two boys at Malvern School who were by nature qualified to lead: Philip Kent and Jack Tait. To one, leadership meant personal advancement; to the other, the opportunity to serve. The early days of their rivalry may be found in the stories "Philip Kent,", "Philip Kent in the Lower School," and "Philip Kent in the Upper School." This volume, the last of the seriess, tells which ideal of leadership found favor at Malvern and how with the help of "Baconfat" and "The Minute" one of the two boys became head of the school.
